Easy Homemade Hot Cocoa

easy food

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DairyPure Milk for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love making hot cocoa in the winter months. Especially around the holidays, filling a warm mug with hot cocoa and sipping it while you watch your favorite Christmas movie is the best!

It wasn’t until we ran out of the powdered box mix that I realized how easy it is to make your own and how much better it actually tastes. I can’t believe how long I spent not knowing that I could have been making it myself with just three ingredients.

Easy Homemade Hot Cocoa

All you need to make this is:

  • 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips (regular or white chocolate)
  • 2 cups of DairyPure milk
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla
  • Marshmallows (optional but encouraged!)

Prep time: 1 minute | Total time: 5 minutes

This really is so easy, all you need to do is mix the chocolate chips and milk together in a saucepan over low-medium heat. You’ll need to stir constantly while it melts. When it’s all melted together, take it off the burner and add in the vanilla. Stir again and let it sit for a couple of minutes to cool a bit.

Then, pour it into mugs, add some marshmallows and enjoy!

We love DairyPure milk because it there are absolutely no artificial growth hormones* and only come from cows fed a healthy diet. The milk is cold shipped from your local dairy and they continually quality test to ensure purity.

Plus, all of their milk is tested for antibiotics which is super important to me when I’m feeding it to my children.
