Breakfast Picnics

My kiddos and I came up with a new fun way to have our weekend breakfasts. They love eating food in new fun ways – outside, from lunch boxes, in bed, in a tent… it’s just fun! So this weekend we decided to have an indoor breakfast picnic!

It’s super simple and is just a fun alternative to sitting at the table. Life is too short to do the same thing every day.

All you need is your breakfast, a tray and a blanket. Serve breakfast on the floor and hang out in your PJ’s! It’s a great Saturday tradition to make with your kids. I love creating silly little traditions they look forward to that I know they will always remember. I want them to look back on their childhood and think of fun.

This weekend we had blackberries and my new favorite quick breakfast, Jimmy Dean Delights English Muffins.

These are made with all real ingredients- egg whites, turkey sausage and cheese on a whole grain English muffin. They come individually packaged so I can just grab one, pop it in the microwave for a few minutes and breakfast is served! They’re perfect to send with my husband to work, too.

I really love finding things I can keep around for days when I don’t have the time to cook a big breakfast or just flat out don’t have the energy or desire to. A lot of quick breakfasts involve a large amount of sugar which I don’t like. This is a great option!
