Easy Christmas Savings Challenge

christmas

Stick to this simple Christmas savings plan to get $500 saved up in 5 months.

I swear Christmas sneaks up on me every year! We get busy with Halloween and pumpkin patches then the next thing you know it’s Thanksgiving and I haven’t shopped at all yet.

Each year I say I’ll do it differently, that I will start shopping early, that I’ll start a holiday gift fund… but alas, it sneaks up on me again.

After this one, check out the 6 Month Vacation Saving Challenge!

Christmas Savings Challenge

This year, I thought it would be helpful to start a Christmas Savings Challenge. If you find yourself in a panic every December trying to stretch your budget, consider trying this challenge.

(And here are 20 real ways to make extra money for Christmas!)

Christmas Savings Challenge Save

This is a weekly savings challenge that starts out just putting away $10 a week and increases all the way to putting away $40 a week for the final five weeks.

You can do this challenge however you want to by changing up the weekly amounts or starting with the bigger deposits and going backwards. Make it your own however it works best for you.

Grab an envelope or your Budget Binder and let’s get started.

This is simple but can definitely be a challenge. It’s only five months long so it does take work and sacrifice, but it will be totally worth it to have a big Christmas fund waiting for you when it’s time to shop.

If you start it early enough, you can be done by the end of November and have the month of December to relax on saving and spend time shopping and enjoying the holidays.

Need more than $500? Start early next year and repeat the cycle twice.

Need more than five months to get to $500? Start early and reduce the $40 weeks back down to $20. The final five weeks can be difficult so start a month early if you need to stretch that part out further.

Stick to this plan to get $500 saved for Christmas in 5 months. Save
