And A Baby Carriage.

Our Favorite Homemade Play Dough

kid activities

Brady and I love making homemade play dough.  It’s quick and easy and we never have to worry about making a trip to the store when we run out.  The recipe I’ve been using smells delicious and is super soft.  In my opinion it is so much better than the traditional store-bought stuff.

Homemade Play Dough Save
We made a version of this last Christmas in red and green with glitter for a festive touch.  This recipe is mostly the same and you can always add in glitter for a little something extra.

Homemade Play Dough Recipe

1 c. of flour

1/8 c. of salt

1/2 c. of water

1 tsp. of vegetable oil

1 packet of Kool-Aid

Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl, using only half a cup of the flour.  Bring the water to a boil, then turn off the burner and add in the oil.  Immediately mix the water/oil mixture into your flour mixture and stir.  You will add in the remaining half cup of flour and knead it in until it is the consistency you like.  You may end up needing to add in more flour as you go.

Homemade Play Dough Save
You can save this in a container with a lid and it will keep for several weeks.  I would not call this edible, because it does not taste good at all, but it is non-toxic so you don’t have to be worried about your little ones doing a taste test.
