The other day my daughter (who is a cross between a princess and a professional wrestler) decided she would sneak into my makeup bag and paint her face to resemble a drunken clown. There was lipstick on her eyebrows, blush all over her face and to really make her lips pop she had added a canvas of every eye shadow color I own across her tiny mouth.
“Did you get into my makeup,” I asked.
“No,” she answered.
For as much makeup as she had on her face, somehow twice as much wound up on her shirt. Her light pink shirt. The shirt that I’d JUST bought her.
Before I had kids the worst stain I ever had to deal with in my laundry was the occasional spot left by the delicious latte I actually had time to drink. In those days if I couldn’t remove a stain from my clothing I just did what any busy working woman would do – I took it to a dry-cleaner and let them deal with it. I had plenty of time, plenty of money to burn and zero interest in figuring out which laundry detergent actually worked.
Cut to me with two kids who consider getting their clothes dirty an unequivocal joy and suddenly finding a laundry detergent that gets it right the first time is one of my top 10 musts as a Mom.
OxiClean™ HD™ laundry detergent has proven to me it can keep its promise of getting the tough stains out and boring as it may sound to some, it absolutely tickles me pink. I love that it can remove dried-on stains and brightens whites because it’s packed with color-safe stain fighters. I know I can take my clothes out of the washer and they are clean – no re-washing or spraying and scrubbing stains. It’s such a relief.
While my son hasn’t yet painted his face with cosmetics (it could happen any day though – trust me), he is doing his best to be involved in every sport that exists in America today. There is baseball, football, volleyball and his all time favorite, a rousing game of “look the dog just knocked me in the mud again.”
Somehow at the end of every day he looks like I make him work in a coal mine for payment in gummy bears.
I’m convinced I should make a T-shirt for my son that announces to strangers, “I’m really not a tiny miner, so please don’t report my Mom.”
I get it. Talking about laundry detergent is kind of boring. I can’t remember the last time I was at a party and heard a group of adults talking about how in the world oxygen is harnessed to clean your clothes. But, if you’re a parent who doesn’t have time to wash and re-wash clothes in an effort to prevent having to just throw them away, OxiClean™ HD™ really can make your life easier.
You’re gonna buy laundry detergent anyway, so why not try it? You should trust me on this. I am after all the Mom to the notorious Dirty Clothes Gang. So yeah – I’m kind of an expert.

Liz is a just a mom trying to keep it real about how little she sleeps, how often she gets puked on and how much she loves them. You can find her here every day writing about real-mom moments.
